27. June 2025

On June 24, 2025, the Parliamentary Evening of the German Association of the Tool Industry (FWI) took place under the motto “Tools Meet Politics” – an important exchange between politics and industry in economically challenging times.

Martin Pott, Managing Director of MPS Sägen, attended the event and actively contributed to the discussion on CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism). In his remarks, he vividly illustrated how the planned CO₂ border adjustment tax impacts medium-sized manufacturers like MPS – especially if certain tool categories remain excluded from the system.

CBAM is intended to create fair competition by accounting for CO₂ costs on imports from third countries. “However, a partial application distorts the market,” said Martin Pott, “and undermines Germany as a climate-friendly production location.”

We thank the FWI for organizing this important event and for its strong advocacy on behalf of our industry. The dialogue between business and politics remains essential – especially for medium-sized manufacturers like MPS.

We would also like to sincerely thank the FWI for the photos and its strong commitment to our industry.
